Jonna got this video of a chipmunk with its cheek pouches full of groceries, which it takes to its burrow in plain sight! Chipmunk burrows can be more than 30 feet long with separate chambers for toileting, sleeping and storing food. Chipmunks are not true hibernators, so unlike their fellow burrow-dwellers the groundhogs, they don't pack on a lot of fat in the fall, but they do store food to sustain them throughout the winter. They also will awaken and leave the burrow to forage on warm winter
