Residents woke to snow, sleet, thunder and lightning as a much-anticipated winter storm announced its presence on March 15.

Sunday will be a quiet day weather wise with seasonal temperatures with highs nearing 60 degrees with breezy conditions. Winds will be gusting from east southeast 15 to 25 mph. There is a spotty chance for rain late in the day Sunday, before more precipitation shows up Monday.

About 1-4 inches of snow is forecast to fall in the Chicago area on Monday morning.

Hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible over the next two days in the Columbia area, according to the National Weather Service.

Tornado Warnings were issued for Howard, Carroll and Frederick counties Monday amid fast-moving storms in the region.

Thunderstorms are expected to move through the Chicago area Sunday before switching over to snow overnight into Monday morning.
