MILAN (AP) — Athletes at the Milan Cortina Winter Games elected a South Korean bobsled pilot and an Estonian biathlete on Thursday to represent them at the International Olympic Committee. The eight-year terms for Yunjong Won and Johanna Talihärm will include voting with IOC members to pick a host for the 2036 Summer Games.
Two South Korean skiers were disqualified from the Winter Olympics qualifying round on Tuesday after officials said they were using a banned substance on their equipment.
Canada’s team, which also includes Sarah Wilkes, Emma Miskew and Tracy Fleury, beat Eunji Gim’s South Korea rink 10-7 on the final day of round-robin play to book a spot in Friday’s semi-finals.
Kim finished the day with the silver medal.

Both South Korean teams competing in the two-man bobsleigh at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics finished outside the top 10 on Tuesday. Pilot Kim Jin-su and brakeman Kim Hyeong-geun finished in 13th place with a time of 3:43.
Gold medallist Choi Ga-on, silver medallist Kim Sang-kyum and bronze medallist Yu Seung-eun all benefited from Venerable Hosan’s influence.
